Claire
I’m Claire, wedding and event planner, stylist and founder of The Village Green Events
I was exposed to the creative industries from a young age and I think I was also destined to set up a business after winning the school enterprise award with my twin sister (and business partner) Laura for making and selling sarongs – a very 90’s endeavour.
I started my career as a lawyer in London but left in 2012 to pursue a more creative job that would make my heart sing. I started working in events and sponsorship at The Science Museum in London and haven’t looked back since setting up The Village Green Events Co. in 2015. I find that my skills acquired during my legal training still serve me well when planning weddings and events as I am all about the detail.
I’m a real people person and I absolutely love building relationships with the couples and clients I work with and often miss working with them when their wedding or event is over. I started focusing more on weddings after I planned my own marquee wedding in the Peak District in 2018. I love that no two weddings or events are the same. It keeps things exciting, challenging and fresh every day.
When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with my husband and two children – Ted and Finn. I also love cooking, playing netball and eating out with my friends (when I get the chance!)

I’m Laura, wedding and event planner, stylist and maker of props and unique décor pieces
I’m twin two in the family, the tall one. We grew up in a house full of creativity and were lucky to be exposed to amazing events from a young age. I think I always knew that I wanted to be a part of this world, although my journey into events wasn’t quite linear. After completing a degree in Sports Science, I changed tack and became a Primary school teacher, a job I loved for 10 years. I use so many of my skills from teaching when producing amazing events; personalising experiences, creating lasting memories and working with incredible people to achieve all that they envisage.
No two days are the same, I am able to be creative and think outside the box, ensuring no detail is missed, constantly evaluating and planning meticulously, but on the outside I display a sense of calm (it’s my secret weapon).
If I’m not at work, you’ll find me in the great outdoors with our family Vizsla or championing my son on the sidelines at one of his sports fixtures. When I have a moment to myself, I’m one of those people who loves to organise and can be found upturning cupboards, label maker in hand. Family board games are also a big hit in our house and I love beating my husband at Monopoly deal.
